I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, and I really think so… feel free to discuss
Funnily enough I thought of this exact same issue sat on the toilet earlier. As we became ‘civilised’ i.e. towns and so forth began to spring up I believe natural selection applying to humans became much of an impossibility. With pollution and over-working (human caused issues) becoming more apparant causes of death, then there isn’t much of an immunity we could build up. Sure perhaps if I was worked harder and harder at a steady pace I could endure more, but at one point I would just become too overworked and that would be the end of me.
We are humans. Natural selection may apply in some vary minor form but not to the standard Darwin saw in animals. These minor types can be seen such as our skin being able to darken in order to protect us from the sun; yet if the sun became too hot not even our darker skin would protect us. These animals survived due to having features that helped them against the environment, whereas I see it that humans used their environment rather than features they were born with to continue to survive.
Anyway, this is not all to blame on medicine. If in the days of old you got a bad case of the flu you usually relied on your family to help you rest, bring you food and so forth. This isn’t medicine, but without it I guarantee I would have had a much harder time doing anything without the help from my family.
Also, those who generally cannot function in day to day life (f.ex those who are paralyzed) tend not to be able to reproduce. Therefore by natural selection theory they die out, so unless they’re able to function properly they cannot survive (Sex is a pretty demanding task of our bodies!) If a person can function properly, then they fulfill their purpose. As an asthmatic I can’t perform extremely strenuous tasks on my lungs but I do alright at everything else; maybe the odd time the air is a bit too hot and I get a bit wheezy but I shouldn’t have to die because of those moments every once in a while. Medicine also helps my asthma progress over the years and improve it with goals at the clinic at the so forth, eventually I may not have it at all and its possible my children will either not have it or may even overcome it too.
In animals, natural selection occurs because the individual cannot benefit itself or serve itself. As humans, we work as a collective and as such if I can put in a decent amount of function towards the collective I’m as worthwhile as the rest of you.
Can you imagine going to prison for 10 years for a crime you didn’t commit? This high school football star and NFL hopeful, who was wrongly jailed for rape, was finally exonerated after the woman who accused him admitted she lied.
[Brian Banks, 26,] spent more than five years in prison and another five on parole. He had to register as a sex offender and was still wearing an ankle monitor during yesterday’s hearing.
“If I can do this, I can get through anything,” he told The Daily just after leaving a Long Beach, Calif., courtroom. “This was my hardest part, and, as they say, good things go to people who hustle while they wait.”

i-should-be-stronger-than-this:
i have been thinking about this lately. i have always wondered what it would be like. weather or not you would still be concuis when you hit the bottom, and if you were how much pain would you be in once you meet the ground? i wonder if you would be killed instantly or just be lying there in uncontrolable pain for ages. i wonder if it would feel like you were flying and finally free in those few moments of falling
this is probably my favourite gif.
gives me chills because for the five minutes that i stared at this, i could feel myself falling
and you can feel like your body slam against the ground idk it scares me a lot
i would hope that you would pass out from fear in the air
i can’t stop staring at this my head feels like it’s heavy and i’m falling
idk i kind of like the fear

To see if I am smiling
This documentary on the Israel army is absolutely appauling. I’m sure every other military is just as guilty but it seems a very clear confirmation now about what’s happening in Gaza, Hebron and everywhere Israel occupies.
Why are small boys being arrested by soldiers for throwing a couple of stone at the road. Sure it’s bad, but they were forced to confess. God damn it.
